OH GURL. I was rolling over and getting ready to go to bed, but then I checked my Flist and saw this and THERE WAS BADLY CONTROLLED BOUNCING. XD
The conversation with Ian was really well-done. I'd been wondering back then if he'd picked up on anything, but thought that if he had, he'd just ignored it. It was probably the professional thing to do, but it's incredibly big of him to dive into it again after the fact for both Dom's and Julia's sakes.
Best Moment in the Chapter Award goes to...
"... you can't keep going from relationship to relationship saying you want to learn about yourself. At some point, you need to know who you are and what you want. At some point, it has to stop."
"But how does anyone know?" Dominic countered, hand waving through the air once more. "How did you know when Sophia was the one for you? Do we ever really know?"
THIS. THANK YOU. I go back and forth about this all the damn time. Specifically, the idea of settling. How do we ever know that we've found what's best for us? We don't. That's absolutely terrifying... that when we get married or choose a career to dig into or pick a house to stay in, we're letting ourselves do what's immediate or convenient. That's why I have trouble believing that we're meant to commit to big things like that. Great 'Forever' Loves and Dream Jobs exist, but I think they're rare. The rest of us... I think we should keep meandering a bit more, but most of us don't. We settle.
... End tangent. lol
Matthew the tease. UNF. It's my favorite kind of Matthew, tbh.
I'm also over here simpering over how poor Dom's brain is now irrevocably in L-Word mode. Filling in gaps, predicting responses. Totally accurate. Makes my face hurt from smiling. ^.^
