Just what Matt needed, and what a perfect timing for Vida to drop a text! I'm glad he got a chance to let it all out so soon after the argument happened. At least now he had no time to bottle it all up and hide himself away from the world to wallow in self-pity. Vida had an amazing effect on him, in such a short conversation. I feel bad for you loosing this friend. Alas, people change throughout life and you can never stop the tides from changing.
I am glad you got to use your old friend as muse for Vida :) I hope we hear more from her; she has a great influence on our poor Matthew! (And what a delicious Matthew it is :D)
Since this chapter was so hard for you to write, and I can completely understand why, I just wanted to give you a big compliment in telling you that you've handled this absolutely wonderful. The dialogues, both internal and actual, were impressive. It's so recognisable for everyone who's been in a similar argument where someone you care for, or love, so deeply has hurt you in the most primitive fashion. It certainly struck a cord with me as well!
Matt painting over the wall is merely painting over the argument. He's not cutting Dom out, I'm sure of it. But Dom sure has some explaining to do! I really can't wait to see his part. Boy's in trouble, like I said in my last comment :D I swear I'm gonna buy some popcorn, and as soon as you update with his side, I'm gonna heat it up and munch it away while enjoying watching him cringe and wriggle his way through the mess he's created for himself. Do I seem heartless? Perhaps, but he deserves it, for now. He let himself led by lust and now he's gotta pay for it.
As long as, when he's paid his dues, he gets to fuck the living hell out of Matt.
Oh, did I say that out loud? I swear I didn't mean that, at all :D *cheeky grin*
Besides the beautiful symbolic line about the gap between their painted parts, this was one of my favourite sentence as well:
--I'm saying that it was the kind of kiss that you take someone to bed with. It was so fucking erotic and I hate him for making it seem like eroticism is meaningless--

I bet Matt still has a lot of thinking to do, after he's exhausted himself physically. I just hope he can keep his strong resolve before Dom. If only for the sake of more sexual tension *lecherous grin*. Oh dear, you do tension so well :) Keep up the WONDERFUL work!
